Where To Cross-Country Ski Or Snowshoe Near Kapasiwin

The park features approximately 45 km of ski trails, providing plenty of options for you to enjoy the snow-covered scenery and varied terrain. Skate and classic ski trails are available, catering to different skill levels. These are three popular trails with options for all different experience levels. 

Beaver Glen Crosscountry Ski Trail (Easy)

This trail parallels Waskesiu Drive and circles the Beaver Glen Campground; the Beaver Glen portion links to the Red Deer Yellow trail. At 5.8 km, it is considered easy.

Red Deer Trail (Red Loop) (Moderate)  

The trail is wide, with enough room for two people to ski or snowshoe side by side. It’s considered a moderate trail, with a 5.7 km distance and an estimated completion time of 2 hours.

You move through forests, meadows, waterside trails, and some small hills to a beautiful meadow about halfway through the trail. This is a popular region for wildlife viewing, so it’s best to travel in groups.   

Spruce River Highlands Trail (Difficult)

The Spruce River Highlands Trail is machine-packed for skiers and snowshoers. This moderately difficult trail entertains experienced skiers and challenges beginner snowshoers. The loop is 8.5 km, and a 1-km spur connects the Spruce River Highlands Trail to 18km of ski trails in the Anglin Lake area.
